You ight be mistaken to think this is a photograph from Spring or Summer, but it was taken in wintery December. I had previously earmarked this location on a walk, when I spotted the framing an East London tower block (left) and the Mile End park leisure centre ‘s roof (right) created around the Shard (centre, duh!).

This particular day the sun lent me a helping hand, lighting up the sky beautifully during sunset. Using a long focal length to compress the scene, I took a shot exposing for the sky and another one exposing for the foreground. The tricky bit was to line everything up nicely as the roof and the building would easily give away any “wonkiness”.
